Celebrex is a selective COX-2 inhibitor used for the treatment of acute pain, including acute pain due to arthritis, menstrual pain, osteoarthritis (arthritis that is still in the joints), pain associated with menstrual cramps, sprains and strains, and minor aches and pain associated with minor injuries and surgeries. It works by blocking the production of certain natural substances in the body that causes pain and inflammation. It can also be used to relieve acute pain from a specific group of people, such as people who have a chronic condition such as arthritis. Celebrex helps relieve symptoms of pain in individuals with a specific chronic condition.

Indications

Celebrex is used to relieve pain from acute (within the first 2 weeks) to minor acute (up to 3 days) injuries and surgeries.

Dosage and Administration

Celebrex is to be taken orally (by mouth) once daily, with or without food. Take celecoxib 30-60 minutes before any activity; the drug should be taken as early as possible within 2-4 hours of waking up. Swallow the capsule whole with water.
